Process Evaluation

Outcomes
  • What actions do we need to take to improve or enhance our evaluation plan to understand our effects on health equity (e.g., have inequities decreased, increased, or remained the same)? 1

  • How can we structure our evaluation processes to understand the long-term effects of our intervention? 1

Findings
  • Have we asked for the affected community’s interpretation of our findings?

  • Can we present findings as a story or narrative that helps change people’s understanding of what creates health?

  • How and where do we typically disseminate our evaluation findings? 1

Integrating health equity into evaluation  provides a more comprehensive understanding of the impact(s) being made. Specifically, an evaluation without  health equity may reveal overall improvement in health, but overlook that specific health inequities are widening.  In this module, the key questions focus on all aspects of evaluation, from start to finish, to advance health equity efforts.
